Daddy's Sister Jackie

Part of the family called her
Jackie and part of the family
called her Mackie.

Jackie and Elmer
always lived next door to
Nannie and Joe...first on
Howell and later on Eastchester....Jackie and
Elmer also went to English St.
Baptist Church and were very
active.

Betty and I went on many trips
with Jackie and Elmer.  They
loved to travel and was always
taking their nieces and nephews
along with them.  I remember when I was fourteen going with them to Asheville  for Elmer's reunion for the
385th AAA Battalion  in World War II.  The reason I know the name is a good friend who's father
also served in the same unit gave me this book.

All of them enjoyed going to the mountains...good food....good shopping and  going to
Hiddenite
and mining  for rocks and pretty stones.  Elmer was already a pro, and Daddy soon
became one.  Mama and Jackie really enjoyed having those beautiful rings their husbands
made for them.

Jackie and Elmer had the most beautiful home furnishings. They inspired a young girl to have a love for design and furniture.
