Mama's Father and Mother
Samuel William Bradshaw Bertie Gilliam Bradshaw June 5, 1887 - March 14, 1960 May 3, 1897 - January 24, 1971

They were both 73 years old when they crossed that rainbow bridge.
-Mountain City, Tennessee was Grandpa's birthplace - John and Elmina Bradshaw were his parents.
Grandma was born in Johnson County, Tennessee - the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Richard Gilliam.
Sam and Bertie were married in 1911, and made their home in Damascus, Virginia where their five children were born..
They left Damascus in 1925, and brought their family to High Point and set up residence. Our grandpa was self employed in a floor sanding business. He retired in 1953. I don't know when they moved there, but they were living at 116 Lake Street in the 1940's, and were there until grandpa passed away. Grandma then moved in with her daughter Ruby.
-Mama had 2 older sisters... Ruby married to Lester Weaver, and they had one daughter Jewell Dean...
Ruth married Luther Hampton and had five daughters - Shirley and Shelby-
twins Linda and Brenda and
Carol Dean...
- Mama had 2 younger brothers...Dellet who was nicknamed Bunk was married to Okie. Jesse was the youngest son...
-Our Mama--Willie married Grady Thompson and they had one daughter and two sons...
